What a Battle! Right to the Wire!
The Port Elgin Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice BB team put forth by far their best effort of the year in this tilt vs the #1 team in the league the Mount Forest Rams.
All the players were pumped up right from the start in this one as before the game the players had collected new toys at their gate to help out the Savation Army with their annual toy drive. The kids new that they had just given other kids in the community the chance to have a very special Christmas. And in return to thank all the fans for bringing a gift they put on an amazing show on the Ice.
The First period saw the Rams take the lead on a short handed goal. This how ever did not phase the players and they continued to play hard between each and every whistle. Mid way through the second period with the rams up 3- 0 and Blain making save after amazing save the Storm were able to get on the board with a beautiful pass from Olivia to Jarrett who was able to find the top shelf of the net. Later in the third period after some hard skating and good passing Joey was able to score and bring the Total to 3-2. After several end to end rushes and more huge saves by Blain the final horn went and the Rams were awarded the win. The whole coaching staff was very proud of all the players in this game and even with the loss have showed that we are a never say die club and have now put fear into each of the other teams this league.
