Mid Movember looking good on PW Storm!
Southport Optimist Pee Wees looked pretty good this weekend with another two games under their belts.Pee

Four time's a charm for Saugeen Shores Pee Wees vs. BP #1 team.  Our last meeting ended up with a come from behind tie, so Storm had to pull up those (stinky) socks and come out strong this game, against a goalie who is getting better every game, and that they did.  Missing Owen, Wade and Darian coach Andy had his hands full with line changes but all looked smooth from the stands as the team came out fast and hard each shift.  First period had end to end action, with the first goal coming at 2:09, scored unassisted by River Roote.  Game was scoreless half way into the second when Storm scored 2 with Bill Johnson assisted by Braeden Ashton followed by the team of Cody Fleet and Emma Vanhaelemeesch.  Third period broke open for both teams with a combined 7 goals scored.  Brayden Horseman, Korey Thomas, Emma V and Bill Johnson found the pipes thanks to teammates Dylan, JD and Cody Flett (x3!) who set the stage for some sweet goals.  Storm wins 8-2.

Sunday play was full of passing and teamwork and just plain good looking hockey for Team Saugeen Shores vs. Arran Elderslie.  This game was teamwork teamwork teamwork, full of passing, defensive play, positional play, body at the right time and in the right way.  Unsung heroes on D did their jobs consistently throughout the game, creating those opportunities for the offensive lines to keep the pressure on a strong AE goalie.  Horseman and Pomroy came out with two goals each with Bill Johnson rounding out the 5-0 win for a shutout for goalie Cameron Plante.  Congratulations to defenceman Dereski, Johnson, Kinden, Roote and Olinski with some impressive backchecking from Korey Thomas, Emma, Cody Flett and Mr. JD Barnard.  Congratulations Storm on an earned win today.
