Pee Wee Storm Have to Work for the Win
Southport Optimist Pee Wees met Bruce Peninsula #2 again last night in Southampton and needed all 40 minutes to lock in the win.

After the first period, Storm was up by 2 thanks to a sweet passing play by Wes Johnson to Emma Vanhaelemeesch and over to Brayden Horseman who found the net.  Second goal was courtesy of River Roote's pass over to Defenseman Brett Kinden who shot a long high shot from the line over the goalie's shoulder making the score after ten 2-0.  Second period proved to a nail biter with Storm back on their heels as BP scoried four goals.  Some key backchecking by JD Barnard saved what could have been a fifth goal for the opposition late in the second.  A nice defensive move and pass by D Nolan Dereski up to Wade Kewagishig found the net and kept Storm in the game finishing the second 15 down by a goal.  Saugeen Shores' Bench came to life in the third with some "assistance" from opposition penalties allowing for team team advantage for a total of 12 minutes.  Korey Thomas was on fire all game and scored unassisted at 8:11, followed by another goal at 14:24 assisted by Wes Johnson, also his second of the game.  The team finished off the game with a stolen shot by Ken Bingham who went on to assist Dylan Pomroy on a sweet goal, and Braeden Ashton, assisted by Wade Kewagishig, final score being 7-4, although not truly indicative of a really tight game for Saugeen Shores.  Congratulations Storm on clawing back the win on this one.  Off to Keady vs. TCDMHA on Wednesday night.  Go Storm!
