Atom LL#2 goes North
On Saturday October 23, Saugeen Shores Atom LL#2 travelled to Lion's Head to face Bruce Peninsula. Our team was still excited from our Friday night win, and came into the game confident.
Our first goal came in the first period from Eric Johnson. Riley Funston on defence made an excellent pass from the side to the front of the net, where Eric slipped the puck past the Bruce Peninsula goalie.
Bruce Peninsula came back with a goal in the second period. Colby Ritchie came close to pulling the team into the lead with an excellent flip shot, but the hot Bruce Peninsula goalie made a glove save and denied Ritchie the goal. Still determined, Ritchie took a pass from defensive player Jamie Kuhl, and brought the puck again to the Bruce Peninsula net, only this time with success. The game ended with a score of 2-1 for Saugeen Shores, due to great team effort and excellent goal-tending by Alec Horning.
Our next game is against Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs.
