Two more wins for Atom LL2
Busy week ends with a pair of victories for the Storm. The Atom LL2 Storm were in action Monday at the Southampton Coliseum versus Shallow Lake.

The game proved to be a closely contested affair during the first two periods. Tight checking and battles for the puck kept the two teams scoreless for much of the first.Oakland Abel came close to scoring on a glorious chance. The Storms' efforts finally paid off when Thomas Forsyth fired the Storm into the lead late in the first.
The second period continued much as the first, with the action see-sawing back and forth. Storm Goalie Richard Besito was kept busy with numerous chances. Shallow Lake tied the game at 7:11 of the second.Thirty seconds later Shallow lake shot into the lead, scoring on a breakaway. The sudden adversity brought out the best in this team. The speed of River Roote caused Shallow lake trouble and right at the tail end of a few back and forth rushes, Colton Heipel sped down the left wing and fired a hard wrister glove side into the netting to level the game 2-2.
The Storm shifted into another gear in the third. Dylan Pomroy scored the first of his 3 goals in the third on a setup from Coleton McNabb.Duncan Wilkinson scored from Ethan Ritchie.Terence Johnson and Aidan Akerman added assists, as the Storm pulled away for a 7-3 victory.

Wednesday night saw the boys in action on the road at Desboro. This game proved to be a closely contested affair,as both teams battled evenly for most of the game. The bigger size of the Desboro team being offset by the teamwork and speed of the Storm.
Early in the firstThomas Forsyth dangerously shot along the ice and off the side of the post.Strong defence by Nick Plaice and Aidan Akerman kept Desboro in check and when shots came through Richard was ready to smother all rebounds. The game was tied 1-1 after the first.
Strong puck movement from Terence Johnson and Coleton McNabb helped keep the play in  the Desboro zone for most
of the second. The improvement in the play of this team was increasingly evident during the second as the Storm built up a 3-1 lead through Thomas Forsyth and Colton Heipel.
Strong efforts by Wesley Johnson, River Roote & Alex Ritchie kept pressuring Desboro time after time in the offensive   zone and the Storm players backchecking in numbers to thwart and frustrate the Desboro attack.
In the third period, play continued back and forth. When called into action,Richard shut the door to preserve the lead and Thomas Forsyth netted two more goals, putting the icing on the cake with a goal at the end of the third for a hat-trick and a
4-1 win. Alex Ritchie, Oakland Abel and Colton McNabb added assists. Congratulations on two outstanding games!
