Pomroy and Forsyth lead Storm to victory over Wiarton
The Atom LL2 Storm were in action again this past Sat. at The Plex.The Storm overwhelmed Wiarton 8-2 the last time these teams met,and this time they were just as inhospitable skating to a 9-1 win.

The game started off lively with the Storm and Wiarton trading goals halfway through the first.Thomas Forsyth scoring for the Storm.Jude McLeod from Wiarton scored a pretty goal on a high wrist shot past Storm goalie Richard Besito.Round #1 to big #15.
  The Storm kept pressing and their overall speed started to pay off in scoring chances as the first period wore on.Coleton McNabb,Dylan Pomroy and Colton Heipel scored on the way to giving  the home side a 4-1 lead going into the second.
   In the second,The Storm kept up the pressure and had numerous chances.Thomas Forsyth and Duncan Wilkinson came close to scoring,and only the fine play of the Wiarton goalie kept the score at 5-1 after the second.Wiarton were frustrated by the tenacious defence of the Storm.The main attack was again through big #15,who was stonewalled by Storm goalie Richard Besito.Round #2 to Richard.
  The third period,the game opened up.Wiarton drove in dangerously on a 2 on 1 break and Richard deflected a hard wrist shot over the net.Later Wiarton had the Storm under pressure in their own end when Wiarton #15 Jude McLeod wired a hard,high wrist shot from the face off circle.Richard Besito came up with the highlight reel glove save..to finish off the dual between these two.The Storm could be held back no longer and added 4 more goals,with Dylan Pomroy finishing with a hat trick and Thomas Forsyth notching 4 assists.Coach Akerman has his team playing strong defensively with the strong positional play of Wesley Johnson and Aidan Akerman keeping the opposing forwards frustrated.Great all around team effort.Busy week ahead with a home and away game.Keep up the good work.
