U7 SSMHA Timbits Hockey Program
Welcome U7 Families to the 2023-2024 hockey season!

Thank you for registering to be part of the U7 Timbits Hockey Program.

Timbits U7 hockey serves as the foundation upon which the entire hockey experience is built. It is an opportunity to build memories that will last long after the game ends. The special bonds and friendships that hockey helps create – for both players and parents – start with Timbits U7. Children registered in U7 will be placed on teams in the coming weeks. Once placed on a team, they will be scheduled for 2 ice times per week; a Tuesday evening and a Saturday morning. Ice times will happen at the Plex and the Coliseum. Coaches will reach out to you with practice times once teams have been solidified. You can expect to have your child on the ice with the first practices taking place Tuesday, October 10th.

In order for the U7 Timbits program to run we will require coaches and volunteers for each team. If you are willing to assist in a coach or assistant coaching capacity, please reach out. All parent volunteers are greatly appreciated. Anyone looking to coach requires their C1 Coaching Qualifications and a criminal background check. If you need information on how to obtain the C1 Qualifications, please reach out.

All skaters require the following equipment to begin the program;
Skates
Jersey
Socks
Jock
Stick
Helmet
Neck protector
Mouth guard
Gloves
Shin pads
Elbow pads
Shoulder pads
Pants

Please note, players will require their own jersey and socks for the first few skates until the Timbit jerseys and socks arrive. They were ordered pre-season and will be distributed as soon as possible. Our program is currently seeking children who would be interested in playing the position of goalie. If your child is interested, please let me know so we are able to allocate team goalies accordingly, and ensure proper equipment is available. SSMHA will provide goalie equipment for those that are willing to try a goalie position.

Lastly, all families MUST complete the Respect in Sport certification. Your certification must be complete prior to allowing your child on the ice.
To access the course, please visit Respect in Sport - SSMHA .

Please continue to monitor the SSMHA website, social media (Facebook and Instagram) and your emails to stay in the loop regarding the upcoming season, and do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.

Looking forward to a great season,
