Girls Lower Lakes Bantam B, U15 (OMHA), 2019-2020 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

Although disappointed that the season ended early, the Lions Club Bantam B Girls team is very proud of their list of accomplishments for the 2019/2020 season.  With question marks around how this team would have competed in both their Lower Lakes series finale and April Provincials, we at least know that they had a shot at both! Accomplishments: 1.  An impressive 28-9-5 record 2.  Scored over 100 goals, allowed only 40 (23 shutouts) 3.  Lost their first game of the season to Orillia, and never lost to them again

The Lions Club Bantam B Girls are off to the third round in Lower Lakes after a hard fought series over the Orillia Hawks.  The Storm Girls took the 4 point series (5-1) with a win (2-1) on February 23, a tie (3-3) on February 29 and a 1-0 victory on March 1 to secure the series win.   On February 1st, 44 teams started playoffs in the Lower Lakes Bantam B division.  Only 12 teams remain in the hunt for the title.  The next round series schedule will be posted soon.

The Lions Club Bantam B Girls (13-4-1) celebrated a 4-0 win over Collingwood last night.  Solid goaltending and puck moving defensive play led to all three forward lines celebrating goals.  Prior to the game the team participated in the SDSS "Saugeen Shares"  Food Drive.  Three teams traveled door to door within this generous community and were proud to be a part of its success.  A special "shout out" to Sophia's dad (Dan) for organizing such a worthy community event and to the volunteer drivers of Mama Anna and Mama Wigs.

The Lions Club Bantam B Girls represented Saugeen Shores this weekend at the annual Kitchener FallFest Girls Hockey Tournament.  With 4 round robin games in 24 hours the Storm played teams from Kitchener (5-2 Win), Woolwich (4-2 Win), Toronto (2-1 Win) and Woodstock (2-0 Loss). The team met up with the Woodstock Wildcats in the Championship Final, this time coming out with a 2-0 Win for the Championship.  Congratulations to the team for showing some serious skills, resiliency, heart and above all some excellent team play.  A great accomplishment for the effort that this team puts in both ...

The Lions Club Lower Lakes Bantam B Girls are off and skating for the 2019/2020 season.  The team is playing in the North Central Division alongside the Owen Sound Ice Hawks, Walkerton Capitals, Orillia Hawks, Barrie Sharks and Collingwood Lightning.  Over the past weekend the team improved to 4 wins-2 losses with wins over Barrie (3-0) and Collingwood (5-0).
