Win ON and OFF the Ice!
The Lions Club Bantam B Girls (13-4-1) celebrated a 4-0 win over Collingwood last night. Solid goaltending and puck moving defensive play led to all three forward lines celebrating goals. Prior to the game the team participated in the SDSS "Saugeen Shares" Food Drive. Three teams traveled door to door within this generous community and were proud to be a part of its success. A special "shout out" to Sophia's dad (Dan) for organizing such a worthy community event and to the volunteer drivers of Mama Anna and Mama Wigs.
The team was not done yet. At noon, the team ran a hockey clinic for a group of girls who were novice and atom aged. The team shared in lots of fun with this group participating in skating drills, mimic games, obstacle courses, 5 stations, Asteroids and our top secret "stolen Detroit Red Wings drill."
Up next for the Bantam B team are away tilts against Walkerton (Wednesday) and Owen Sound (Friday) before returning home to face Barrie on Sunday afternoon.
