Novice B Win Gold at the Strathroy Rep & AE Olympics
The Novice B team won 5 straight games to take Gold at the Strathroy Rep & AE Olympics tournament this weekend.

The Storm opened their tournament bright and early Friday morning with a 7:30am game vs the Amherstburg Stars. The game was tied going into the 2nd but a quick Storm goal put them ahead and they held on to win 4-1.

Friday afternoon the Novice B team faced off with the Clarington Toros. The Storm had a 2 goal lead nearing the end of the 3rd but the Toros kept battling. Clarington tied it up with only 28 seconds left on the clock forcing overtime. The Storm were not deterred and came out strong scoring the overtime winner a minute and a half into OT.

The Storm returned to the ice on Saturday afternoon to take on the Strathroy Jr. Rockets. In what could easily be said the Novice B team's best game of the season they stunned the undefeated home team in a 6-2 win.

The final round robin game saw the Storm vs the Tillsonburg Tornadoes. The Tornadoes took an early 2 goal lead but the Storm were seemingly unfazed. Keeping to the game plan the Storm continued to press scoring 5 consecutive goals to come out on top in a 5-3 win.

The final Gold medal game saw a rematch between the Storm and the Strathroy Jr. Rockets. It was an exciting game that had family and friends on the edges of their seats. The Rockets thought they had scored early in the 1st but found themselves in the box instead on a goaltender interference penalty. Outstanding saves by both goaltenders kept the game scoreless until the 3rd period when the Storm's perseverance finally paid off. It was an incredible all out team effort that saw the Storm win the Gold medal in a 3-1 win over the Jr. Rockets.
