Midget BB's Take Game 1 - Tyler D'Angelo's Goal Proves to be the Winner

The Saugeen Shores Martins’ Bike Shop Storm Midget BB's defeated the Midget Collingwood Blackhawks 2-1 Tuesday night at the Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood to take a one game to none lead in their best-of-five OMHA Midget BB Group 4 Preliminary Round playoff series.

After nearly two scoreless periods, the Midget Storm scored to take a 1-0 lead with a little over a minute left in the second period.  Ian MacKay scored on the power play on set-up from Zach Walker.  Three minutes into the third period, Saugeen Shores jumped to a 2-0 lead with Tyler D'Angelo's eventual game winning goal.  Daniel Buerger and Tom Godwin assisted on the play.

Brett McCulloch's shutout bid was spoiled when Collingwood's Matt Tipold scored a power play goal with two and half minutes left in the third period to make it 2-1.

Game 2 of the series is in Port Elgin at the 'Plex on Sunday January 29th, 2012.  Gametime is 5:00 pm.
