BDO Dunwoody AtomBB Outlast Kincardine Kinucks

The BDO Dunwoody Atom BB team who are in the midst of playoff action outlasted the Kincardine Kinucks on January 31st at the Plex in Port Elgin.

They are now undefeated in the WOAA AtomBB play downs.
Saugeen Shores came out a little flat and found themselves trailing by a goal after the first period. With a rest and a pep talk from the coach the Storm were ready to play. Kincardine managed another goal but, that didn’t phase the Storm because they knew they had what it takes to get back in the game. Just over a minute later Hale Schoneck made an end to end burst to put the storm on the board. Riley Johnson received a nifty pass from Sam Maksymyk to tie the game at two apiece.
Kincardine wasn’t going to take the Storms comeback lightly. Even with some quality defensive work by Issac Fewster and Nic Matheson Kincardine managed to be leading four to two after two periods.
Digging deep the Storm knew they needed to pull together to get a win. Early in the third period, with some great fore checking by Jack Kozelenko a tape to tape pass from Ben Lalonde to Shawn Charlebois had the Storm within one. With Kincardine in the penalty box Cam Lightfoot put an unassisted laser by the Kincardine goalie to tie the game at four.
The Storm continued to attack with Ben Lalonde scoring to get his second point of the night off a great pass from Jacob Condy. The Storm was pressing so hard that the Kinucks couldn’t get their goalie out of the net for the sixth attacker. Hunter Cannon set up Cam Lightfoot with nineteen seconds left in the game to ice the win for the Storm. The Storm goaltending duties were shared by Tanner Bromfield and Dex Wasylishyn who both put in strong performances.
