Seeing Is Believing
The progression being shown by the ScotiaBank Novices is very inspiring to their coaches.

They may have just gone down by a 7 to 4 score at the hands of the Saugeen Shores Team #2 on Wednesday night but it was only a night of positives for this lunch-pail crew. There may have been some soft goals scored against them but their work ethic remained constant. In defence of goalie Colby Ritchie, his team was forced to play without him at the beginning of the game due to an equipment problem. One can only imagine the pressure he was under to perform once he entered the goal. However, he did his best under the circumstances and on more than one occasion proved he had a good glove hand.  Although Colby is one of his team's top goal scorers, they picked up the slack and scored four goals on a team that has not usually been tested that often this season. The Tyke-Line have now all scored at least one goal this season. Eoin Mackay potted his first from team-mates Spencer Sutter-Lammie and Kaya Hall. He deserved a second goal on a sparkling end-to-end individual rush only to be thwarted by goalie Partrick Fenton. Desmond Gouin was in fine form, scoring two goals and one assist. Reed Stauffer had a singleton while Austin Belanger had two assists with Teena Ritchie chipping in with one. It was a night that more players deserved to find their names on the scoresheet but knowing they had the chances made it fun playing. Notwithstanding the goals against, the defence of Jack Evans, Hunter Barnard, Blake Shields, and Josh Johnson played with purpose and confidence throughout the game. All in all it was a very good game. Next up, this Saturday on the Peninsula for the Tim Horton's Hockey Day In Canada exhibition game at 11am.
