The Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs
came to Port Elgin for a lunch hour battle with the Saugeen Shores Storm
LL#1...and they came hungry.
The Ice Dogs opened the scoring
in the first period with a goal from M.Faust. They built a 2-0 lead after
a goal from G.Gateman at 7:18 of the 2nd period
Jared Meyer answered back for
the Storm with a great goal one minute later. After going down 3-1, Jared
Meyer once again brought his club within one goal in the dying seconds of the
2nd period.
NLL#1 tried to battle back
through the early parts of the third period, having many chances in front of
the Ice Dogs' net and hitting a few posts. But the 2nd half of
the third belonged to the Ice Dogs, who scored three unanswered goals for the
6-2 win.
Saugeen Shores LL#1 forward
Jared Meyer shone offensively for the Storm while strong efforts on the
blue line were made by R. Funston and Tyler Bamford.
The two clubs meet again on Nov
25th at 7:00 pm in Southampton where the Storm will try to bite
back....
