Novice LL # 1, 2009-2010 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

Saturday January 9 - My team and I went to Desboro for a game. Desboro scored 2 in the first. But Riley Funston and me, Jamie Kuhl, scored one goal each with assists by Mathew Martin and Jared Meyer. In the second period Desboro came back with 2 more. But we came back with another 2 goals by Jamie Kuhl and 2 assits by Jared Meyer and 1 by Nathan VanMyall. To finish off the game we scored another goal by Jamie Kuhl assited by Jared Meyer and James Clazie. Great goaltending Nathan!! Great effort Saugeen Shores!!!!!!!!! - submitted by Jamie Kuhl.

2010 is shaping up to be a good year for the Carson's Supply Saugeen Shores Novice LL #1 Team. On January 2 in Desboro LL#1 managed to come away with a well deserved 4-3 victory over the TCDMAA #2 squad. The first period ended with LL#1 up 2-1 with goals by Jared Meyer and Nathan Van Myall with a nifty backhand. The tide turned in period number 2 when TCDMAA scored two to go ahead 3-2. Saturday 10:00 am This game was the best game ever. Our team played in Wiarton. It was the best game ever because in the first period Jared, number 17 on our team scored a goal. Nick, number 5 got the assist. In the second period Jared scored another goal and Nathan who is number 3 got the assist. In the third period Jared scored AGAIN!!!!! Riley (me) number 4 got a goal as well (ed. doing her best Bobby Orr impression). Amber who is number 8 got an assist and Preston who is number 13 got an assist as well. Wiarton scored one goal but that’s okay because Isaac, our goalie did AWESOME!!!! ...

It was a great game today we won 4-1 . It started out with TCDMHA getting an early goal but it did not take the Storm long to answer back with Preston Ritchie poking one in. It was back and forth to end the first period. One unanswered goal in the second by Nathan VanMyall to end that period. Two unanswered goals in the third by Jared Meyer to end the game. On Saturday December 5th Saugeen Shores Novice Team #1 traveled to Tara for a 9:00am game. The Storm took an early 1-0 lead thanks to Jamie Kuhl and his great work in front of the net. Tara followed up in the second period with a goal to tie the match at 1-1. At the start of the 3rd period Tara scored another goal to go ahead 2-1. The game turned into an all out push for the tying goal with some outstanding work shown by Riley Funston who pushed forward on several occasions while still playing great defense.
