Tournament Play in Howick
Saugeen Shores headed to Howick for a 1 day tournament last Sunday with a guarantee of 2 games for the day. First opponent was Creemore, followed by a rubber match against Howick in Game #2. At the drop of the first puck, it was clear that Storm was going to need to be on their game against a strong stick handling team, and they didn't disappoint. Storm dug hard from start to finish, fighting in their corner and driving the puck out of their end. Goalie Cameron Plante was exceptional in goal, with some strong support from the defensive teams of Dereski/Wilkinson and Roberton/Olinskie. Although Storm ended up with a defeat, it was a diligent effort given by all. Second game was tough against Howick who Storm has both tied and defeated once in regular league play. After Howick's first tie of the season earlier in the day against Listowel, Howick was hungry for a win and earned it, playing a strong game. Back to regular season, with a trip to Listowel on Saturday Dec 12.
