The Atom Rep team travelled to Listowel on Saturday afternoon to faceoff against the Cyclones who they had not beaten in their previous meetings this year.  But with Christmas just around the corner, Will Rickerby provided 4 gifts for his team as the Storm came out on top by a score of 6-2.

The BDO Dunwoody Atoms came out firing from the opening faceoff and managed to score the first goal of the game when Rickerby scored 3 ½ minutes into the first off a nice feed from Eric Charlebois.  Four minutes later, Eric Charlebois scored with assists from Michael Fiegehen and Will Rickerby to give the Storm a two goal lead heading into the second.

The defense pairings of Kelly Cobean and Kent Ribey and Jack Middleton and William Forsyth continued to work hard along the boards and along the blue line only allowing the Cyclones one shot in the opening period.

The Storm continued to pull away from Listowel as they scored 3 unanswered goals in the second period.  Scoring twice for the Storm in that period was Will Rickerby with Michael Fiegehen adding a single.  Assisting on the goals were were Eric Charlebois with two, and Michael Fiegehen and Kent Ribey with one apiece.  Jack Flarity was strong in net as his glove hand made some spectacular highlight-reel saves to keep his team on top.

The offense continued to pound the net as the lines of Justin Marlowe, Korey Thomas and Paul Leger and Nick Sutter-Lammie, Murray Martin and Thomas Macdonald forced the Cyclones netminder to make some saves to try and keep his team in the game.

Late in the third, Listowel pushed back against the Storm allowing two goals in the third before Will Rickerby scored his fourth goal of the game to seal his team’s fate.

On Sunday night, the Storm headed down the highway for a rematch against Kincardine, who had beaten them a couple of weeks ago.  But the boys were not willing to go down a second time and burst out of the gate from the opening period and never looked back winning the game by a score of 7-1.

The BDO Dunwoody Atoms got on the board first when Paul Leger scored on an assist from Justin Marlowe.  Less than a minute later, Michael Fiegehen added to the lead with help from Eric Charlebois and Kelly Cobean who assisted on the play.

The Storm added five more goals to Kincardine’s single tally in the second to pull away with the lead.  Scoring in the second for the team were Michael Fiegehen with two (giving him the hat trick), with singles going to Eric Charlebois, Thomas MacDonald and Korey Thomas.  Assisting in the period was Will Rickerby with 2, with singles going to Eric Charlebois, William Forsyth, Murray Martin and Kelly Cobean.

Jake Ackert was solid between the pipes for the Storm, stopping 12 of the 13 shots he faced in the game.
