Reminders for 2nd Half of the Season
Hello SSMHA Families!Just a few reminders as we enter into the second half of the hockey season.
Ice Times: Many of our Representative teams will be finishing their regular season games and will be starting both WOAA and OMHA playoffs. As a result, your team’s ice times might be moved around in order to ensure all the playoff games are completed by the WOAA/OMHA deadline. We will do our best to find you a replacement time, however, this is not a guarantee. Morning ice times are still available, and coaches/managers can find open ice time at https://ssmha.com/availabilities. Fans are always welcome to come and cheer the Storm on. Good luck to all teams!
Coaches: SSMHA is always in need of more coaches and trainers. We will be posting applications for our REP coaches in the next few months. If you are interested, please ensure your coaches credentials are current and appropriate for the level you wish to apply for. If you are unsure of the requirements, please check here: OMHA https://cdn1.sportngin.com/attachments/document/0106/9007/2018-2019_-_TEAM_OFFICIAL_QUALIFICATION_REQUIREMENTS-APPENDIX_A.pdf?_ga=2.127406285.1790431332.1546393819-613787163.1520204052 OWHA http://owha.pointstreaksites.com/view/owha/coaches/coaches-1/certification-requirements
Please look for an announcement on the website, on Facebook or email. Coaches are required to complete Professional Development (PD) courses to maintain your coaching status. We are hoping to bring some PD courses to the area as well. Did you miss the PEP coaching sessions in the fall and your still interested in the program or just a refresher? Please contact John Rich. We will also be looking for C1 coaches for our IP and Tyke programs in 2019-2020. We are looking at bringing a course to Saugeen Shores this spring or late summer. If you are interested in the course, please contact John Rich John Rich [email protected] or Jami Smith [email protected] As always, please keep an eye on the website and/or Facebook page for news, information and announcements about the season. Have fun and see you on the ice!SSMHA Executive
