Concussion/Team Officials Info Session
November 12th. We have the Rotary Room at the Plex booked from 7 -8:30 Here is the proposed agenda.
* Concussion 101 - Brock MacDonald (20 minutes)- on ice and bench- SSMHA policy / Hockey Canada Policy- BWDSB Concussion Recovery, possible 'treatment', testing, and 6-steps - Brock (10 min)
* How to be a Bench Staff - 10 min Coach and assistant Coach roles- how to get qualified for coachingTrainer role- how to get qualified for trainer or Manager role- qualifications needed, how to communicate with teams, what to do on the website - Forms you need to fill out, where to find them - Injury and suspension reporting
*What do the VPs Do? 5 min - run the tryouts and evals, recruit coaches, help with organizing teams- keep apprised of issues with each team- Cindy Thomson is the only exec who can contact the OMHA/WOAA directly
* What does the Registrar Do? - 5 min (Tara Somerville)- registration and liaising with families- rostering through OMHA, and the official roster importance- manage information for required items for players and bench staff- upload roster to website
* What does Public Relations do?- 5 min (Steve Ballard)- send out news - FB, website, emails- give website access to managers and executive- create email lists, produce training videos
* Scheduler - 5 min (Rob Lamont)- how can your team get more ice time?- how can you get more PEP in your practice?Q&A - 10 min
