Atom AE Still Rolling
(Submitted by Jessica Hall) The Atom AE Storm are into the OMHA Finals! The Atom AE team, sponsored by Queens Bar, defeated the Napanee Stars in a tension filled, goal-for-goal Game 3 semi-final matchup this past weekend, to secure their spot in the OMHA finals.

Atom AE have had a very successful OMHA playdown run, sweeping Mitchell Meteors in the first round, and the Midland Centennials in the quarter finals. Storm opened the semi-final series against past Silverstick rivals- the Napanee Stars at home late February. Storm came out on top, leading the series 2-0 heading into Napanee for Game 3. Both teams were equally skilled and the Storm knew they’d have to give it 150% in Game 3. Atom AE had quite the battle in Napanee, with the Stars coming out strong and netting the first 2 goals. Not to be out done, Emmett “Moose” Jackson fired right back with 2 back-to-back goals. With three seconds left in the 2nd, Ben Hall slapped one in, making the score 3-2 Storm heading in the 3rd period. Napanee came back hard with 2 goals early in the 3rd, taking the lead 4-3. The Storm weren’t out yet though, successfully netting another two goals. The last three minutes of play saw Owen Sheehan get one past the Napanee goalie, and with 24 seconds to go the Storm held onto to win it 6-5! Congrats to all the players; Brodie, Mason L, Mason S, Sam, Owen, Hank, Sabi, Ben, Emmett, Ryan, Zack, Riley, Brett and Tyler. It took the entire team working together to pull this off. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves. Coaches, Shawn, Jason, Brandon, Dave and all the parents can’t wait to cheer you on as you work to bring the Championship title to Saugeen Shores!
