Goalie School
Submitted By Stephen Ballard on Mon 09 25, 17
Hello SSMHA goalies and goalie parents. Welcome to the 2017/18 goalie development program.

I'm really looking forward to working with our associations young goalies again. My name is Richard Harris. This will be my second year running SSMHA goalie development after helping with it for 3-4 years. I've had many years playing the position as well in minor hockey, Jr C, Sr A and oldtimers. I'm still playing with the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks and oldtimers. I've also been coaching for 7 years in SSMHA.

Back to help again this season is my wife Melanie Harris. Melanie has been a goalie for a long time as well, winning the provincial woman's BB championship in 2012. Melanie has coached in SSMHA since 2015. We'll have many other guest coaches and shooters out to help over the season.

Our first session is Monday Oct 2nd, 7-8pm at the Southampton Coliseum, and will run same time/place moving forward till December. For the first session I'd like to invite ALL goalies out to the ice. We'll get everyone moving and seeing some pucks. We'll judge numbers next week so we can decide the breakdown for rest of  the season.

Any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]

See you at the rink!
Richard Harris
