Volunteer Credits
Submitted By cflarity on Sat 07 27, 13
This season there will be many opportunities to earn volunteer credits as a replacement for canteen hours.  You will be able to earn back registration dollars by the end of this season using these credits as well as other methods of fundraising.

1. Fundscrip
The easiest way is to join Fundscrip.  At www.fundscrip.com, you purchase gift cards for retailers such as Independent Grocer, Giant Tiger, and Canadian Tire.  When you make purchases at these stores, you use your gift cards instead of cash.  It is money that you would have spent at the store anyways.  With every gift card purchase, 50% of the proceeds goes to you and 50% goes to SSMHA.  You will be able to pay for these cards using on-line bill payments.  An email will be sent in August regarding how to sign up for this opportunity.

2.  Tournaments
There will be two association run tournaments this year in Saugeen Shores.  The Chris Knott tournament will be held in November and the International Silver Stick Caitlyn Cobean Memorial tournament in February.  Volunteers will be needed to help run both of these tournaments. More information regarding signup will be coming in the fall.

3.  Gates
Gates will be collected for all home games this season.  There will be an opportunity through your team manager to sign up to work at the door.

The Volunteer committee is looking for other ideas on how to fundraise.  Anyone with ideas on how to fundraise for our association, is asked to contact Rebecca via the website.
There will be information nights this fall to introduce hockey families to fundraising in the association.  If you have any questions, please contact April via the website.
