Girls Silver Stick Cancelled
Submitted By AGottscheu on Tue 09 27, 11
The following is a copy of a letter:

"September 26, 2011

Please be advised that the Saugeen Shores Girls Silver Stick tournament has been cancelled.  The tournament dates were November 25, 26 and 27, 2011.  The changes made by the OWHA to C classified teams have made it impossible to fill our tournament.  The teams have not been given a time frame for reclassification after completing their five games.  This has resulted in only 5 teams registering for our tournament and this date last year we had 45.  Our deadline for cancelling ice has approached and we cannot wait any longer to cancel.  This is a huge financial hit to our small community and Saugeen Shores Minor hockey.

We will closely watch the reclassification process this year and establish which tournament works best for our association and International Silver Stick for the 2012 hockey season.

Alicia Scott"
