The U11B team has won their second tournament of the season, this time clinching the championship win a little closer to home, at the Wingham Regional Silver Stick Tournament.
During round-robin play, the team tied Kincardine Kinucks 3-3, captured a 4-0 win against Ayr Flames, and secured a 3-2 win against the Mid Huron Huskies.
On Saturday, they played an exciting semi-final game against the Kincardine Kinucks. The Kinucks were leading 3-1 after the second period. However, the team persevered and scored a whopping 4 goals in the third period which landed them a 5-3 win and a spot in the championship game.
On Sunday afternoon, the Storm took on the Saugeen Valley Steelheads. Despite having lost to the Steelheads in league play earlier this season, the Storm played hard and came out on top with a well-deserved 2-1 win.
The Saugeen Shores U11 B Team will be traveling to Forest, ON January 19-22, 2024 to participate in the International Silver Stick, Forest Finals. We wish them the best of luck and know that they will be excellent ambassadors for SSMHA!
