Arena Protocols
Hello SSMHA families,

WELCOME BACK. We have been busy getting organized to welcome your players back onto the ice this week for our pre season prep skates. There are a few changes from last season to keep in mind when entering the arena for your scheduled ice times.

Players:

players can return to dressing rooms after practice/game
can arrive up to 25 minutes ahead instead of 15
have up to 20 minutes to exit - showers are open for use
can arrive and exit in street clothes

We are not limited to 1 parent/caregiver per participant. We would like to limit each player to 2 spectators when possible, but will allow for siblings to attend. However, children must remain in direct supervision and stay in socially distanced seating area with the caregiver at all times.

The arena doors will be left open for late comers and late spectators to come in once the screener is gone. Please sign-in upon arrival and proceed to the dressing room/stands.

Spectators:

•Spectators must sign-in (there will be multiple sign-in sheets to expedite this process) upon arrival with contact information and a negative self-screen for Covid19 symptoms.
•Spectator zones will be assigned and rotated between groups.
•Masks and physical distancing are MANDATORY in stands.
•Individual food and drinks are permitted. Masks may be removed to eat or drink.
•Spectators who do not need to assist their participant may enter and exit the stands from the lobby.
•Spectators are encouraged to exit the facility immediately following ice time.
•Spectators may access the lobby washrooms
.•Spectators are not permitted to watch from the lobby.

Lastly, as per the OMHA and OWHA Vaccination policies released this week, SSMHA is working to make the necessary changes to our programming to allow for the safe progression of hockey within Saugeen Shores. If you have a child that is currently registered with us, who was born prior to 2010 and DO NOT plan to be fully vaccinated by October 17th, 2021, please contact our treasurer for a full refund.

Any player who is not fully vaccinated (i.e. including the 14 day period after receiving the completed dose) or who have not been granted an accommodation from the OMHA or OWHA in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) will no longer be eligible to participate in any sanctioned activities until they have been fully vaccinated or given the accommodation.

Please refer to the current OMHA and OWHA vaccination policies for the full details and a list of acceptable documents serving as proof of Covid-19 vaccination. This policy does not currently include spectators, however OMHA and OWHA reserves the right to extend this policy to include parents/caregivers at any time.

Vaccination opportunities are readily available across our region. Please refer to the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit website for more information.

*Please note that SSMHA does not have the ability to grant any exceptions or accommodations to the vaccination policies referenced.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Mary Campbell  SSMHA President
