Preparation Program Announcement
Hello SSMHA families – further to last week’s announcement regarding SSMHA’s Preparation Program starting September 7th, please read this communication carefully as it explains how the Preparation Program will work, the schedule and the general expectations to ensure we have a successful Return to Hockey.

What you need to know:

1. The Preparation Program is phase 1 of SSMHA’ s Return to Hockey Program. It is not tryouts/evaluations.  Rather, the Preparation Program is designed to get our SSMHA Hockey Players back on the ice, put them through a standard set of divisional appropriate drills, and get our players ready for a successful season regardless of what level of competition they may play.

2. A reminder that the Preparation Program is for U8 and older.  The U7 program will start in October.

3. Based on registration numbers and ice time availability, we are pleased to be able to offer each player 2 x 50min ice times/week for a total of 3 weeks (6 ice times in total).

4. The Preparation Program is not mandatory.  If you can’t make it, no worries. This is designed to get our SSMHA players back on the ice and to help them with their Return to Hockey.

5. The Schedule is THE SCHEDULE!  SSMHA, in partnership with the Town of Saugeen Shores, has to manage facility capacity, and we have a restriction on the number of players/coaches that are permitted on the ice at any one time.  Please follow it, please don’t try to switch, and please don’t go to additional sessions. We recognize the schedule might not be perfect for everyone, but please respect it.  Failure to comply with the schedule may result in a player being removed from the Preparation Program

6.  Divisional Groups/Ice times have been determined based on LAST NAME. Therefore, everyone is responsible to determine what Division/Group they are in based on the chart below, and to closely follow the SCHEDULE on the SSMHA WEBSITE which will be posted shortly.

7.  The Preparation Program will conclude on September 26th – at which point SSMHA will move to Phase 2 of our Return to Hockey Plan, and tryout dates will be communicated.
