Peewee Girls open OWHA playdowns with a win
Wednesday night, the Giant Tiger Peewee Girls travelled down a stormy Hwy. 21 to Kincardine to open their OWHA playdowns against the Kinucks.
The girls came into Kincardine loose and ready to play unlike their "white knuckled" parents who needed a little more time to wind down from the drive. The Storm girls dominated the first two periods with all the play in the Kinucks end but could not solve a very hot goalie. The play continued in the Kinucks end into the third period and it was just a matter of time before Brooklyn opened the scoring 3 minutes into the period, assisted by Ashley. Wiggy gave the Peewee girls a little breathing room with the second goal a couple of minutes later, assited by Chloe and Layla. The whole team played a great offensive gave and back checked when called upon. Emma was stellar in net with a one shot, shut out. Final score, 2-0.
