Great Start to the season for Novice B Storm
The Saugeen Shores Novice B Storm had a stand-out performance during their first team exhibition game, on Saturday, October 4th, versus the Shallow Lake Lakers.

During the first period, neither team was able to best their opponent’s goalie, though Jason Legge had several great opportunities for The Storm.  The Lakers opened up the scoring, during the start of the second period, but The Storm were able to stay focused on their game plan of smart passing and hard play.  Their hard work paid off at the end of the period, with Austin Dunlop and Chad Lawrence each scoring respective goals.  Some great passes by Malachi McKinnon and Chad Lawrence helped veterans Luke Thornley and Dustin Heipel show their experience during the third, with a goal for Thornley and two for Heipel.  During a bad line change for the Storm, Austin Dunlop burned down the ice from the bench and used his body to block a great scoring chance for the Lakers.  A goal by Liam Doherty wrapped up the scoring near the end of the period, making the final score a 6-1 win for The Storm.

This first outing was truly a team effort, with all players making great contributions towards the win.  Go Storm!
