Season Opener against the Hanover Falcons Oct. 19th
What a start to the season!
Friday night proved to be an exciting one!  The Hanover Falcons were a strong team but all of our boys showed their skill and talent and proud to have a win their first game out!

A hit from behind to one of our wingers, Josh Briggs (5), left the Falcons a man down for the rest of the game minutes into the first period.
Then "ping", that beautiful sound off of our starting goaltender Dex Wasylishyn's (30) stick to those in the crowd. The first save of the season with many other brilliant saves to come.
A clean first period for Saugeen Shores, three penalties from the Falcons, but leaving the period scoreless.
Hanover scores off a rebound minutes into the second period.  Caleb McLaren (2) returns it with a great pass from Tyler Bamford (20) at the centre line!  Our first season opener!
Another penalty against the Falcons for contact to the head, did not give opportunity to one up our opposer's. 1-1 at the end of the second.
Jared Meyer (17) has a beauty shot 13:12 into the third period unassisted.
The Falcons pull their starting goalie.  CJ Palmer (11) takes advantage of a breakaway and fires a beauty top left shot to the wall in front of him.  3-1 Storm.
Our first penalty for interference keeps Dex on his toes, but proves us proud again with 4 saves.  Another penalty against the Storm, but again with great defense and goal tending, Falcons could not gain a point.
Hanover squeaked one in to make it 3-2 with just under 4 minutes left in the 3rd.
With beautiful passes that you need to see, Eric Johnson (8) scores off of a pass from Jared Meyer (17) from a precise shot from Nathan VanMyall (7).
Another show of great passing, gave the Storm a fifth and final goal from Jared Cameron (12) assisted by CJ Palmer (11).
The Falcons get another penalty with seconds to spare in the third.
It pays to play clean, fast and smart.  Our boys first victory!
