Port Elgin Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Back on the Ice
After a well-deserved Christmas break, the Saugeen Shores Novice Rep team was back on the ice Monday night against the Hanover Falcons. The boys worked hard and earned a 5-3 win.

Friday night the boys travelled down Highway 21 to face off against the Kincardine Kinucks in exhibition play. Kincardine is a possible playoff opponent so it was a good test for our boys. The Kinucks scored the first two goals of the game, as it took some time for the Storm to get their legs going. Tanner Bromfield was strong in net for Saugeen Shores, stopping many of our opponent’s shots.

The team finally got on the board with minutes to go in the second, as Jacob Condy scored on an unassisted play. The Storm worked hard along the boards with solid defensive plays made by Carter O’Leary, Hale Schoneck, Reed Stauffer and Ethan Greig.

Kincardine added an early goal in the third as Sam Flarity, Jarrett Blue and Nick Scott worked hard to move the puck along the boards and keep the game close. Jacob Condy added one more in the third to close the gap but the buzzer sounded before the boys were able to get any further. Final score 3-2.

The Storm were up the next morning and off to Paisley to continue league play against the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs. The boys played a strong game from start to finish and came away with a 6-1 win. Dane Heipel earned a well-deserved hat trick for the Storm with Donovan Kewageshig adding a pair and Austin Hagen scoring once. Assisting on the goals were Nic Lalonde with two and Austin Hagen, Hale Schoneck and Eoin MacKay.

Next up for the Storm is a one day tournament in Durham on Saturday. GO STORM GO!!
