Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice Undefeated in League Play
The Port Elgin Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice Rep team continued their winning ways in league play last week.First up was a home game against Shallow Lake on Monday night.  The Lakers came to play and pushed the Storm to their limits ending the game in a 5-5 tie.

Scoring for the Storm was Hale Schoneck with 2 and Eoin MacKay, Nick Scott and Jacob Condy adding singles.  Assisting for the boys were Austin Hagen, Nic Lalonde, Donovan Kewageshig, Eoin MacKay, Nick Scott and Jacob Condy.

 

Next up for the Storm was a Thursday night game on the road in Tara against the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs.  The Storm controlled the game from start to finish, earning Jarrett Blue his first shutout of the season,  winning the game 4-0.  Goal scorers were Jacob Condy, Dane Heipel, Austin Hagen and Eoin MacKay.

 

Saugeen Shores was on the road again Saturday for their first matchup against Durham.  The Reps worked well at passing the puck and solid play in the defensive end earned the boys a 4-1 victory.  Scoring 2 goals each for the Storm was Jacob Condy and Austin Hagen.  Assisting on the goals were Dane Heipel, Donovan Kewageshig and Eoin MacKay.  Ethan Greig and Reed Stauffer worked solidly along the blue line to help preserve the win.

 

The final game of the weekend was a home game Sunday against TCDMHA at the Plex.  Although the Rebels controlled the game at the beginning, carrying a 2-1 lead into the second, the Storm came back strong and took over the game and won 7-2. Hale Schoneck led the team with 4 goals with singles from Dane Heipel, Jacob Condy and Austin Hagen.  Assisting on Hagen’s goal was Reed Stauffer. Sam Flarity and Carter O’Leary played hard at both ends of the ice to help their team to victory.

 

Next up for the Storm is a weekend tournament in Strathroy beginning on November 12th.  GO STORM GO!!
