Novice LL#3 Fight Hard in Finals
Willy's Contracting Novice LL#3 fought hard in the final round of playoffs against AE Ice Dogs #2 coming up just short of the championship.
Having made it through the semi-finals, LL#3 played their first game in the finals against AE Ice Dogs #2 on Friday March 25th which ended in a 6 to 2 loss. Determined to do their best to turn the series around, Willy’s came out hard in the 2nd game in Paisley. The Ice Dogs scored early in the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Storm fought back quickly in the second with Carter O’Leary making the goal assisted by Josh Neron to tie the game up 1-1. As the battle carried on, AE again came back and took the lead by the end of the 2nd period. Not to be outdone, Storm came out swinging with a quick goal early in the 3rd by Josh Neron to tie the game up 2-2. The final period carried on neck in neck until the last 2 minutes of the game when AE scored again to take the lead. Saugeen Shores put their all into it with all hands on deck making a great effort to try to get the game back. Awesome goaltending by Theo Wilkinson and quick defensive work by Eve Martin, Toby Wilkinson, Jared Cameron-Nashkewa and Zach Campbell kept the AE Ice Dogs from gaining any further. Strong play by Josh Neron, Carter O’Leary , Dane Heipel, Logan Lemcke, Skylar Soini, Josh Campbell, and Brendan Crombeen helped the team play a strong offensive game. Final score – 3 to 2 for the AE Ice Dogs. Great game played by all. WAY TO GO STORM!!
