The Saugeen Shores U13 LL2 Storm delivered an unforgettable weekend of hockey at the Aurora Tigers March Madness Tournament, showcasing determination, grit, and true team spirit. From hard‑fought wins to a thrilling playoff run that carried them all the way to the championship game, the Storm represented Saugeen Shores with pride and passion every time they hit the ice.
The Saugeen Shores U13 LL2 Storm hit the ice this weekend at the Aurora Tigers March Madness Tournament—and what a weekend it was!
The Storm came out flying on Friday, kicking things off with a nail‑biting 2–1 victory over the Belmont Rangers LL3. They carried that momentum straight into Saturday with an impressive 5–1 win against West Niagara Team 6.
In their final round‑robin game, the Storm faced the Simcoe Warriors LL1. Despite some tired legs from an earlier game, the team battled hard and earned a gritty 1–1 tie—just enough to secure a spot in the semifinals on Sunday.
Entering the playoffs as the 4th seed, the Storm took on the tournament’s 1st seed, a strong Ilderton squad. The team came ready to compete, scoring just 33 seconds into the game and locking things down with outstanding team defence and incredible goaltending. The result? A thrilling 1–0 win and a ticket to the championship game!
In the final, the Storm played with heart and determination against the Brock Wild Green, answering Brock’s first and second goals in under a minute. While the team came up just short of the gold medal, they left everything on the ice and should be incredibly proud of their effort and teamwork all weekend long.
A huge thank you to our amazing parents for making this weekend possible. The coaching staff could not be prouder of the commitment, resilience, and sportsmanship shown by every player.
