Chris Knott - What a Great Guy
Christopher Randall Knott died suddenly in a diving accident in 1996. This tournament was started to keep Chris’s memory alive. Chris loved to play hockey. He started playing when he was a young boy in the Welland Hockey Association. Like many of the families from this area, Chris' family moved to Port Elgin and this is when he started playing for Port Elgin. Chris attended Lakehead University. He was not a superstar hockey player but he sure loved the game. While playing in Port Elgin the common rivalry was between Kincardine and Port Elgin. Ironically Chris ended up playing for the Kincardine Bulldogs. The Bulldogs hold a golf tournament every year in memory of Chris. The Bulldogs retired Chris’ Jersey and it is in the lobby at every tournament.
Chris made friends easily and you could always pick him out of a crowd with is big smile and he ball cap slighty off centre. Chris was a great guy and is sadly missed.
We hope to provide a challenging and enjoyable weekend for all.
Please feel free to contact me if there are any questions.
