In their second game, they continued to showcase their determination, shutting out the Woodstock team 5-0. Their third game was another impressive display of skill, as goalie Anastasia delivered a stellar performance, earning her third shutout of the tournament in a commanding 18-0 victory over St. Mary's. The Storm wrapped up the round-robin portion of the tournament with an 8-2 win over Collingwood Blue, securing the top spot in their group and advancing to the semifinals.
The semifinals saw a fierce battle against the Barrie Sharks. The Storm quickly took the lead with a fast goal, but Barrie responded with two quick goals, taking a 3-1 lead. Undeterred, the girls fought back, scoring twice in the third period to force overtime. Less than a minute into extra time, the Storm found the back of the net, securing a hard-fought 4-3 victory and earning their spot in the gold medal game.
The final showdown was set against the undefeated North Middlesex Stars, and the intensity was palpable. The first period ended in a 0-0 tie, with both teams battling fiercely. In the second period, the Storm took the lead 2-0, but North Middlesex wasn’t ready to back down. They managed to pull one back, making it 2-1 as the clock wound down.
