The Saugeen Shores Storm U13 Tier 1 team, sponsored by the Port Elgin Legion Branch 340, had a great tournament weekend at the Shallow Lake Lakers Classic, showcasing a lot of heart and skill to come out on top.
They kicked off the tournament on Friday with two games. First, they played against the Shallow Lake Lakers and came out on top with a score of 4-3. Then, they really turned up the heat against the Wasaga Beach Stars, winning 8-0. These wins put the Storm in first place after pool play, giving them a great boost of confidence for the next rounds.
On Saturday, the Storm kept the momentum going in the semifinals against Georgian Shores, showcasing offensive excellence with a score of 6-1. This win sent them to the finals, where they faced Shallow Lake Lakers once again. In a thrilling rematch, the Storm played hard and secured a 3-1 victory, earning them the championship title. Their effort and teamwork throughout the tournament were impressive, making them the champions of the Shallow Lake Lakers Classic!
