Atom LL 1, U11 (OMHA), 2015-2016 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

Atom LL#1 polished off the last week end of the regular season with a solid pair of wins to top off a great season with 30 points and only one loss against a very hungry LL#2. And it appears there is a good chance we may meet again in the Southampton Tournament on Feb.20. It was great to get together after our final game for some food and fun and the staff was very proud to present you all with those Season Champs medals after all the hard work this year. Now lets keep working hard in practice and be ready when the playoff roll around.

Well LL#1 got back to action for a pair of tough games this past week end after the holiday break, facing a hungry 2nd place SS LL#2. We had a bit of a slow start showing the effects maybe of some time off the ice? But battled hard to win game one Saturday but sadly lost the Sunday game, a high scoring affair that saw a bit of everything. This week we have our first full ice practice Thursday at 6 in Southampton, and just 4 games left in the regular season. We play the next two week ends both Saturday and Sunday. So Atom LL#1 continues to cruise along, having a good time and winning games. We were a bit nervous headed into this week end exhibition game against the Owen Sound select team that had beaten us at the Bayshore. Worried not because we didn't think we could win, but because we thought we might be short some players. A few were going to be absent and a few more were ill earlier in the week. Well here we are a month into the season and LL#1 has arrived at the top of the leader board and are so are undefeated at league play (4-0). Our only loss against a Owen Sound select team in the Bayshore, who btw will get to face again in Southampton Saturday Dec. 12th at 4:30pm. The team has come together nicely, continuing their unselfish play, putting the team first and most importantly having fun. Our roster got final approval this week which gets us over any hick up for next week end, when LL#1 will travel to Mildmay for a tournament. Everyone is excited for that fun day of team ...

What a great day last Saturday at the Davidson Centre. Saugeen Shores LL#1 Atoms game together nicely after only two skates together. Some players got used to their new positions and the team played great together. Coaches and parents were delighted with the solid team play and great passes that made for some super plays. Benny held the team in it when called on and gained his first shut out of the year, While Branden notched the teams first goal of the year, followed up with two more from Andy as he took to his new role at center.
