Silver at The Bobby Orr Halls of Fame Tournament
The Storm U13 B team, sponsored by the Port Elgin Legion Branch 340, travelled to Parry Sound for the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Tournament November 3rd-5th, taking home silver!
Friday recap, the Storm started the weekend off with two wins! Game one against the Oro Thunder, a close game ending with a score of 2-1. The team then faced of against the Mooretown Jr Flags winning with a sweeping score of 6-0.
Saturday the team started off strong against the Parry Sound Shamrocks, winning 5-2. However were defeated in their second game for the first time all weekend by the South Huron Sabres 4-0.
After regrouping and some team bonding the hotel, the team headed into semi finals Sunday. They were up against the Oro Thunder again, this time winning 3-0 to push them ahead into the championship game. The final game was a hard battle for both teams, yet again facing their only loss, the South Huron Sabres. They went into overtime with a score of 2-2. After a few minutes of 3 on 3 the Sabres were able to get a shot on net, scoring to win 3-2. The team took home silver, way to go Storm!
Honorable mention to The Jolly Roger Resort for the team building and fun! Mini sticks, indoor squash courts and pool tables made for lots of fun and memories.
