A Strong Weekend by SSLL#1
Saturday January 9 -
My
team and I went to Desboro for a game. Desboro scored 2 in the
first. But Riley Funston and me, Jamie Kuhl, scored one goal each
with assists by Mathew Martin and Jared Meyer. In the second period
Desboro came back with 2 more. But we came back with another 2 goals
by Jamie Kuhl and 2 assits by Jared Meyer and 1 by Nathan VanMyall.
To finish off the game we scored another goal by Jamie Kuhl assited
by Jared Meyer and James Clazie. Great goaltending Nathan!! Great
effort Saugeen Shores!!!!!!!!! - submitted by Jamie Kuhl.Sunday January 10 - The Carson Supply Saugeen Shores Novice LL#1 was home to Shallow Lake #1 and saw an explosion of goals. Leading the way were Jared Meyer and Caleb McLaren, each with a Hat Trick. Nathan Van Myall, Jamie Kuhl, Preston Ritchie and James Clazie, with his first of the season, each contributed a single goal. Also contributing was Riley Funston with 4 assists on the day. A strong performance was seen by the Shallow Lake goalie who turned away a flurry of shots. Sagar Grewel spoiled the shutout bid against another SSLL#1 rookie goalie, Nicholas Bagyan.
Monday January 11 - The rematch game from the first of the season saw the SSLL#1 get a win over SSLL#4. Strong play from both teams kept the game close. Caleb McLaren continued his offensive streak by potting the opener with Jared Meyer adding 2 insurance markers. Earning the shutout was James Clazie, demonstrating a possible future between the pipes.
The coaches would just like to extend their admiration for the strong play put forth by the team this weekend.
