Scotiabank PeeWee AE travel to Monkton to take on the Michell Meteors AE
The Scotiabank Peewee AE team travelled to Monkton to play the Mitchell Meteors in their home team Barn on November  14.  This was the second time that these two competitive teams have matched up this season, the first which was on home ice.  Although the weather cooperated, the team was unified and good effort was displayed, the Storm couldn’t get enough breaks to take the win.

It was just over the two minute mark into the start of the game when the Storm managed to sink the rubber into the opposing mesh.  Scored by Jimmy Gattesco, and assisted by Brandon Embro, and Chris Hoffman, the Storm was on the board and felt good with an early 1-0 start.  The boys were playing good, and we were hearing lots of talking, and calling for the puck on the ice by team mates, something that we had been reinforcing during practice and game talks with the kids.  The Meteors had a number of shots and squabbles in front of our own net, but Colby did a great job and shut them down.

The Meteors strike back in the second when they capitalized on a missed play by the Storm.  This was countered later in the second by the Storm when we again took the go ahead.   Jimmy Gattesco scored his second of the night as line mates Brandon Embro and Chris Hoffman set up the opportunity for him to score.  Nice work guys!

The Storm slipped shortly after ice flood in the third, and the Meteors again tied up the game at 2-2.  There was a point when defenseman Talan Martin had shot the puck hard and high from about centre ice which had gone in, but due to players being in the other end zone at the time of the shot, the goal was called off due to being off side.  Tough break!  The game remained tight until about the half minute mark on the clock when a crowd around our own net emerged and the puck trickled in.  Getting the go ahead goal with only 27 seconds on the clock didn’t leave much time to take back the lead of this game.  Struggling, the Storm attempted to pull goaltender Colby Lettau and put out the sixth skater on the ice, but the play was amiss, and the score remained at 3-2 in favour of the Meteors.  Better luck next time.  This was a close game and the team should be proud of their efforts.  We do see the Meteors two more times in regular season play, so we will work hard and look
