ATOM “B” REP Sponsored by: UNIFOR
Way back in September, a team consisting of 9 interchangeable forwards, 4 solid defensemen, and 2 outstanding goalies, was made.  Most of the boys had played together on teams before, but there were a few new faces added to the group.

Early on, the boys started practicing and figuring out each others style of play.  They started out the season with some exhibition games, with two losses against Kincardine and one win versus Shallow Lake.  After that, the boys turned it on!  The team headed off to Parry Sound to the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Classic.  They brought home the Championship Banner, and with that, the boys started a 9-game winning streak.  After a loss to our favourite rival (Kincardine), the boys went on another 8-game winning streak, bringing home the Gold in the Red & White Tournament in Schomberg.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, or in the Atom’s case, take a breather.  After making it to the finals in the Regional Silver Stick Tournament in Wingham, the boys lost a hard-fought battle in double overtime to Hanover.  After that, the boys continued on finishing their regular season schedule and then starting playoffs after the Christmas break.

In January, playoffs started for both the OMHA and WOAA.  The Atom boys faced Listowel in the OMHA’S, but lost the battle after 6 games.  Then they started their round-robin play with Kincardine and Mitchell.  Kincardine once again came out on top, but they finished off their final games with Kincardine and Mitchell with two big, fat “W’s”!

Those W’s started off the final 9-game winning streak for the boys.  They capped the season off winning the Championship at the Alymer Flames Rep Tournament.  The boys ended the season with 35 wins, 14 losses, and 6 ties, while recording 16 shut-outs!

Keenan, Lucas, Malachi, Dillon, Chad, Blake, Luke, Will, Liam, Sean, Logan, Jason, Justin, Jack, Austin, and their families would like to thank our team sponsor – UNIFOR.  A huge thank you goes out to Coach Darryl and his staff – Steve, Matt, Jason and Rob.  Thank you for sacrificing your time out of your busy lives.  Thank you for coaching them through the season.  And most of all, thank you for teaching them about discipline, responsibility, and lessons they will carry with them throughout their lives.
