There were plenty of good news stories coming out of Saturday’s (Oct 22) Bantam
B matchup between the Saugeen Shores Storm and the Shallow Lake Lakers … for
the Storm fans at least.
The Martin's Home Hardware Bantam B Storm team extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a convincing 9-0 win over the Lakers.
Storm Forward Dane Heipel led the way with an impressive 5 point performance (2G, 3A) while defenceman Carter O’Leary also had a great night with a hat-trick. Storm goaltender Jarret Blue was solid as usual and shut the door on the Lakers, notching his second shutout of the season.
This was the second meeting between the two teams this season, and once again the Saugeen Shores squad dominated the younger Laker team from start to finish.
Scoring plays for the Storm were as follows;
Period 1
- Heipel from Jacob Condy
- Austin Hagen from Heipel
Period 2
- Heipel from James Fowler
- O’Leary unassisted
