Bantam B's Keep on Rollin'
Goaltender Tanner Bromfield got the nod as Martin's Home Hardware Bantam B Storm team extended their unbeaten streak to six games this past Sunday (Oct 16). The Storm traveled to the Hanover P&H Center and handed the Falcons their first loss of the 2016/17 season.

The first period of Sunday's game didn't start out quite the way the Storm coaching staff would have liked, with Hanover jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead just three minutes in. A few minutes later the Storm were assessed a 4 minute penalty which the Falcons capitalized on to go up 2-0.

It looked as though the Storm were going into the second period down by two when, with a minute left in the first, Saugeen Shores defenseman Carter O'Leary hit Jacob Condy with a beautiful stretch pass as he emerged from the penalty box. Condy went in alone and put the Storm on the board with a nice deke to finish the first frame.

The late first period goal proved to be a momentum shifter as the Storm just kept rolling with two more goals in the second, the first scored by Dane Heipel from Condy and James Fowler followed by a goal by Chase Houston from Austin MacKinnon.

As the third period started, the Storm had no intentions of taking their foot off the gas as Mackinnon put Saugeen Shores up 4-1 with a beautiful individual effort and Spencer Sutter-Lammie scored a few minutes later to give the Storm a four goal cushion. Fowler rounded out the scoring with one minute remaining in the third, on a nice feed from Condy.

Goals from six different players made the gutsy come from behind 6-1 win that much more impressive and is a testament to the depth this young coaching staff has to work with.

The Storm will host the Shallow Lake Lakers this Saturday (Oct 22) at 5:30pm at the Plex.
