Midget B Storm Archie McMillan Tournament Finalists
The Saugeen Shores Storm Midget B team, sponsored by Boston Pizza in Port Elgin, laced up the skates for their first tournament of the season this weekend in Kincardine.

The boys played some solid hockey at both ends of the ice with 'Captain' Cam Plante holding down the fort in net and even shutting out Petrolia in the semi-final with a 2-0 win.  The team finished round robin play with a 4-2 loss on Friday night vs BCH, but came back strong Saturday morning with a 6-3 win over Twin Centres.  The Storm trailed 3-2 half way into the 3rd period before the power play was given an opportunity and promptly buried 3 PP goals.  Cody Flett also followed it up with an empty-netter, his second goal of the night!  The last round robin game was played against St. Mary's where the team held onto a 1-0 lead until the 8:00 minute mark of the third period and thus resulting in a tie.  Luckily St. Mary's tied all 3 of their round robin games!  This left every team in the pool with 3 points and due to GF % the Storm finished in 1st place.
As mentioned before the game vs Petrolia in the semi-final was the Cam Plante show where he turned away all 28 shots en route to a shut-out with goals being scored by Troy Courneyea and Trevor Donaldson.  The final was played at 4:30 pm against the host team, the Kincardine Kinnucks, whom had gone undefeated thus far in the tournament.  It was a close game that came down to the wire with Kincardine getting into penalty trouble late in the 3rd.  The Storm were able to capitalize on the power play and bring the score within 1 goal, but that was as close as they got.  The final was a 3-2 loss but there was plenty of entertainment for the fans as the team left it all on the ice.  Thanks to all the families and friends who made the trip to the Davidson Centre to cheers us on, and we'll be ready for Schomburg in a couple weeks!

Player of the game honours were awarded to:
Game #1 Cody Flett, Game #2 Nick Sutter, Game #3 Paul Leger, Game #4 Cam Plante
