Novice LL#5 vs. TCDMHA LL#2
Saugeen Shores Storm LL#5, sponsored by the Lion's Club, wrapped up their regular season in Desboro on Sunday afternoon with a 1-1 tie.
Although it was a low scoring affair it was debatably the most exciting game of the season to date with non-stop end to end action.
TCD opened the scoring in the second period off a quick draw towards the LL#5 net. The kids were not deterred by this minor set-back and steadily drove the play into the opposition's end.
LL#5 was rewarded with an equalizer on a scramble near the opposing net. Several shots were fired before J. Boone was able to slide one past their tender.
Many nails were chewed to the quick that day. Several great saves by the TCD goalie were only matched and outdone by LL#5's goalie S. Hwang.
Great hustle by C. Ritchie-Roote, T. Crawford, R. Foster, D. Thomson and E. Akerman kept the pressure on the opposing defencemen. The defensive pairings of A. Johnson and T. Nakai along with A. Hill and B. Boone supplied great positional play to keep the puck cleared from LL#5's zone and towards TCD's end of the rink.
It was a great way to end the regular season. Players and parents are looking forward to the upcoming WOAA LL playoffs where the excitement is sure to continue.
