Canadian Tire Cup Champions!
After finishing off a stellar regular season, LL4 traveled to Hanover on February 6th to compete in the Hanover Novice Canadian Tire Cup Tournament.
What a day it was! The team started their day with an 8am game vs. Hanover Falcons # 1. This fast paced, early morning affair had LL4 and Hanover Falcons all tied up until LL4 Stormed ahead and took the lead, never looking back. At the final buzzer LL4 was victorious defeating the Falcons 3-1.
The next game, slated for 1pm vs. SSMHA LL5, had the team and fans all fired up. Having met two times prior in the regular season, each team winning a game, everyone knew this was going to be an intense, action packed match up. LL5 opened the scoring quickly and netted 3 goals in the first. Down 3-0 but never giving up, LL4 kicked it into high gear scoring 4 unanswered goals to win the game 4-3. The non-stop end to end action by both teams was remarkable. Now we had our sights set on the Championship game!
All set to go, LL4 stepped onto the ice at 5pm to face Hanover Falcons # 2. It was another tight game with many tense moments. As the game went on both teams were beginning to lose steam. With LL4 up 5-3 late in the third, Hanover called a time out and pulled their goalie. LL4 continued to battle hard and clinched the CTC Novice Tournament Championship. Final score was 5-4 for SSMHA LL4.
Each and every player on LL4 played their hearts out. All of you should be proud of your accomplishments, not only as Tournament Champs, but for all of your hard with and dedication displayed throughout the season.
Now, bring on The Playoffs!
