Congratulations to Saugeen Shores Storm Novice LL3 (sponsored by Scotiabank) for winning the Elroy Cumming Memorial Novice Tournament, held January 15-17 in Paisley.
In their first game, the Storm played to a 4 - 2 win against TCDMAH 2. In their second game the Storm piled on the offence for a 7 - 0 victory against the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs. The championship game found the Storm matched up against an unfamiliar opponent, the Walkerton Capitals, undefeated to that point in their season. It was an intense battle from the opening face-off, but the Storm scored two early goals and held on for an eventual 3-0 win to become tournament champions in the local league division. Way to go Storm!
