Midget B Storm Season Opener
The Midget B Storm, sponsored by BDO Dunwoody, made the trek down to Durham last night to face off against the West Grey Warriors for their opening game of the season.  Cam Plante was given the chance to start off the season in net and he did not disappoint.  He had a strong outing in the pipes stopping 25 of 26 shots as West Grey could only put one in the net on the power play.

The 1st period saw a lot of back and forth action with a few power play opportunities for each side but the goalies locked it down and carried shutouts into the 2nd.  Colton Heipel came close when he rang a shot off the crossbar from the top of the circle.  The Storm's offensive pressure finally paid off when Nick Sutter tipped one past the tender setup by Heiepl and Flett.  Less than a minute later the same line struck again as Heipel blasted a slap shot into the twine.  The score held at 2-0 until the 2nd intermission.  The Storm started the 3rd period with some intensity led by Kenny Bollen laying some aggressive checks on the West Grey forwards.  Hayden Duplantis then went to work with some impressive back-checking to negate a breakaway at one end, and then generating some offensive at the other by scoring consecutive goals with well aimed wrist shots.  West Grey managed to score one on the power play to beat Plante for the first time in the game.  The shot totals paralleled the final score as the Storm came out ahead 50-26 even though they spent more time shorthanded.  All in all it was a strong effort by the whole team who will be heading to Kincardine this Saturday to take on the Kinucks.
