Atom C Girls WOAA White Division Champs
The Crabby Joe's Atom C Girls travelled to the big city of Belmore this weekend to compete for the WOAA White Division Championship.
Up until Saturday morning I was quite sure that the arena in Desboro was the coldest one in Ontario. Apparently I had yet to visit the Belmore arena. The Storm girls started the tournament out with a slow start against a team that is accustom to playing out of a cold arena, the TCDMHA Rebels HL, with a loss. After the girls thawed out and the coaching staff were treated for frost bite, the Storm girls found a way to heat up with two straight wins. The Storm girls were into the Championship game against the Rebels. The Rebels have had the Storm girls' number all year but it was time for a change. After the Massey Ferguson had resurfaced the ice and diesel fumes had cleared, the Atom girls took to the ice and out played the Rebels at every aspect of the game. Final 4-1. Congratulations to the Storm girls. After a long but fun year, the girls development has been exponential. On the weekend we had a one player with her first goal of the season and another with the first goal of her career. She enjoyed it so much that she went out and got another one. Great job girls.
