Clifford Tournament Champs
Saturday, the Scotiabank Novice LL3 Storm braved the weather and travelled to Clifford for their Local League tournament.
Game one for the Storm had them matched up against a strong Hanover Falcons #1 team. They won the game 3-1 with a goal from Charlie B., two goals from Hunter and strong goal tending by Kelvin. Second game was against Listowel. The Storm came out flying scoring 4 goals in the first period. Owen lead off the scoring with an assist from Zach B. Brodie scored the next goal then his brother Hunter added the next two. With a nice lead the team concentrated on team defense only allowing one goal the rest of the game. The Storm were now in the Championship game. Their opponent was the Hanover Falcons #2 team who had advanced to the final rather easily. The team defense of Charlie Gordon M., Kaiden, Zach B. and Anderson was stellar. The fore checking of Devin, Brodie and Wes kept the Falcons in their own zone. Charlie B. opened the scoring with a goal on the first shift of the game. The game remained close with Caitlin and Jeri digging hard along the boards and the excellent goal tending from Kelvin. Brodie then made the game 2-0 early in the third period and that's the way this game would end. Congratulations to the Scotiabank Novice LL3 Storm as the tournament champions.
